(Corona, CA) – Today, Congressmen Ken Calvert (CA-42) announced his support for Diane Harkey in the open 4th District, Board of Equalization. Congressman Calvert is not only a strong voice in the Riverside County area of this BOE seat, but he is also a national GOP leader, taxpayer advocate and former small business owner.
“Our nation’s future hinges on Republicans ability to balance budgets and reinvigorate our economy,” said Congressman Calvert. “We need GOP leaders at every level of government focused on job creation and furthering the free market. That’s why I support Diane Harkey for Board of Equalization. An active BOE can go a long way in redefining regulations and taxes, and opening up breathing room for small businesses to grow and expand. We need Diane Harkey in this seat, and I’m proud to support her.”
Congressman Calvert is just the latest high profile endorsement for Diane Harkey, including Orange County’s Congressman John Campbell and the BOE Incumbent Michelle Steel, along with a growing list of elected officials and community leaders.
“Small business and GOP leaders are consolidating their support around Diane Harkey,” said Harkey spokesman Tim Clark. “They know Diane is a fighter for taxpayers and small businesses, and she will have a big impact on growing jobs in this state. One thing is for sure, Diane won’t be a back bencher who does little in office.”
Congressman Calvert serves on the House Budget Committee and the Appropriations Committee. Congressman Calvert also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, Subcommittee on Energy and Water, and was recently named the Chairman of the Interior Subcommittee.
